LORENA VILLAGOMEZ

Since 2002, Lorena Villagomez has served as Controller in MCG Properties’ Accounting Department, overseeing financial operations for both the firm and its clients. Her responsibilities include monthly and year-end financial reporting, account reconciliation, payroll, and benefits coordination. Lorena ensures financial statements are accurate, timely, and aligned with each client’s entity structure, whether a partnership, trust, sole proprietorship, or corporation.

Her work supports the firm’s overall financial health and strategic planning. Known for her attention to detail, she tracks all aspects of accounts payable and receivable and helps ensure that reporting systems run efficiently from start to finish. She is also the interface between accountants and clients, known for her ability to spot inconsistencies in legacy financial records and streamline back-office systems.

Lorena began her career at MCG while still attending college, starting as an Accounts Payable Assistant. Through years of dedication and proven expertise, she rose into the Controller role, demonstrating exceptional skill in managing the intricate needs of each portfolio. Many accounts include multiple entities and require customized reporting processes, and Lorena brings a deep understanding of how to navigate these complexities with accuracy and efficiency.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Cal State Fullerton, graduating with honors.

Based in Santa Ana, Lorena is active in her church community, and she also loves taking spin class and spending time with her three adult children.
